With 30.4% of the country covered in forests, this biodiverse ecosystem supports over a thousand plant species, 670 bird species and 151 mammal species, including the iconic mountain gorillas and Big 5 - the lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Rwanda's unwavering commitment to preserving its forests not only for its people but also for the flourishing wildlife is truly remarkable and deserves greater recognition.
